Background
Rebecca graduated with First Class Honours in Law from the University of Sydney in 1996 and practised in the
commercial property division of one of Australia’s largest law firms before joining the firm in 2000. Rebecca
coordinates the WMD Property Group and all property and transactional matters including sales and purchases of
businesses and corporate entities, developments, structuring issues, leasing, subdivision, finance and
conveyancing.
Rebecca was the inaugural NSW Young Commercial Property Lawyer of the Year in 2004/2005 and
established and chaired the NSW Young Lawyers Property Committee. She has also held a position on the Law
Society's Property Law Committee.
Experience
Rebecca's practice involves providing commercial and practical advice to clients in relation to property and transactional matters. Rebecca has acted on a wide range of matters including:
- Acting for commercial clients in relation to the sales and purchases of various enterprises
- Advising a national client in relation to its leasing portfolio
- Acting for developers in relation to residential and commercial development projects, including advising on site acquisition, development approvals and the "off the plan" sales
- Advising clients in relation to GST and financing issues
- Working with clients and advising them on unique and innovative structures for property projects
- Co-ordinating due diligence reporting and advising on property issues arising from the sale of a national hotel chain including negotiating the assignment of numerous leases across Australia
- Acting on the leasing, strata subdivision and commercial off the plan development of a multi-storey office block in North Sydney
- Acting on the commercial and retail leasing portfolios for both lessor and lessee clients, including acting on the redevelopment and retail leasing of shopping centres
