Turia was participating in Racing the Planet’s Kimberley Ultra-marathon when she and her competitors became trapped in a gorge and engulfed by an out of control bushfire. As a result, Turia suffered horrific burns to 60% of her body, and is in the process of a very long, painful and expensive rehabilitation.
